Help support the Sound of Illinois
The Sound of Illinois is a 501(a)(3) not-for-profit a cappella male chorus organization dedicated to providing vocal music education and using the power of music to entertain and touch the hearts of our audiences. The SOI Chorus funds its annual budget through the following:
Annual Show: Central Illinois audiences who attend our show, plus area businesses and patrons who buy space in our printed show programs, are the major sources of income.
Singing Valentines: Patrons who pay for a couple songs, a rose and a photo are another income source.
Grants: Annual contributions from State Farm Companies Foundation and the Town of Normal’s Harmon Arts Grants are important to our fiscal health. State Farm grants are based on employee volunteer hours provided to the group. Central Illinois Arts Council has provided past grants.
Other: Other income sources include member dues, special gifts and bequests.
The Sound of Illinois operating expenses have grown and include: rehearsal hall rent, director fees, music, risers, uniforms and insurance.
We invite you to become a member patron of the Sound of Illinois with a tax-deductible contribution. To show our appreciation we are offering a variety of benefits to our patrons as outlined below:
