The 2012 shows mark the 70th consecutive year the Bloomington Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) has brought the finest in the truly American art form to audiences in Central Illinois.

In September 2011, >The Sound of Illinois Chorus earned the Illinois berth in next summer’s international competition.  That will be in Portland, OR and is the fifth consecutive appearance for SOI after earning wild-card positions in 2008 (Nashville), 2009 (Anaheim), 2010 (Philadelphia), and 2011 (Kansas City).

2012 Show is titled "All You Need Is Love" A Tribute to the Beatles. You will hear all those familier songs from the sixties and seventies.

Special guest quartet is ‘Round Midnight, an award-winning “a cappella” quartet of music educators from New York City. They sing primarily in the barbershop style and demonstrate how close harmony can be applied to different musical genres such as R&B, pop, jazz, and rock. ‘Round Midnight has been featured in an array of showcases, contests, and educational workshops spanning the United States from Carnegie Hall in New York City to the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
